چکیده
This research was mainly to study the optimisation of extraction process of Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort alcohol extracts. Stable passage pancreatic cancer HS 766 T cell lines were created by cell culture, and the cell proliferation data were measured by MTT assay. The determination of HS766T cell cycle and apoptosis case was done by PI staining and flow cytometry analysis. The results displayed that Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort can inhibit the proliferation of pancreatic cancer HS 766 T cells. The cell cycle was blocked in G0/G1 phase, and the cell membrane was damaged on observation with microscope. At the same time, the generation of apoptosis was promoted by reduced intracellular Ca(2+) concentration. All in all, the HS 766 T cells could be effectively suppressed by Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort alcohol extracts.

Reversal effects of traditional Chinese herbs on multidrug resistance in cancer cells.
Multidrug resistance (MDR) continues to be a major obstacle for successful anticancer therapy. In this work, fractions from 17 clinically used antitumour traditional Chinese medicinal herbs were tested for their potential to restore the sensitivity of MCF-7/ADR and A549/Taxol cells to a known antineoplastic agent. The effects of these fractions were evaluated by MTT method and an assay of the c...

BACKGROUND/AIMS To study the spectrum-effect relationship and effective components of Ligusticum Chuanxiong Hort. (LCH) on the protection of canine myocardial ischemia. METHODS Fingerprint spectrum of LCH extracts was developed using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and a canine model of acute myocardial ischemia was established by ligating the coronary artery. Bivariate correla...
متن کاملAnti-Inflammatory Effects of 81 Chinese Herb Extracts and Their Correlation with the Characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine
Inducible nitrogen oxide synthase (iNOS) is the primary contributor of the overproduction of nitric oxide and its inhibitors have been actively sought as effective anti-inflammatory agents. In this study, we prepared 70% ethanol extracts from 81 Chinese herbs. These extracts were subsequently evaluated for their effect on nitrogen oxide (NO) production and cell growth in LPS/IFNγ-costimulated a...

A series of butylphthalide derivatives (BPDs) 1-8 were isolated from the extract of the dried rhizome of Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort. (Umbelliferae). The cytotoxic activities of BPDs 1-8 were evaluated using a panel of human cancer cell lines. In addition, the SAR analysis and potential anti-invasion activities were investigated. The sp² carbons at C-7 and C-7a appeared to be essential for the c...
